The Renovators' Council of the London Home Builders’ Association partner with London Firefighters twice a year in a “Smoke Alarm Blitz” and go door to door to check for working smoke alarms. Normally, not having a working smoke alarm could net the owner a $235 fine, but during a blitz, if a home is found to be unprotected, a working smoke alarm or battery is provided at no charge to the resident courtesy of the Renovators' Council. Alarms are also installed by the renovators as an additional service to the homeowners.
The London Fire Department chooses the blitz area that the homes were constructed before smoke alarms were required by the building code.
The Fire Department and the Renovators' Council of the LHBA remind all Londoners that SMOKE ALARMS SAVE LIVES, please remember to check your smoke alarm today!
