$70,000 Raised for the Health & Homelessness Fund for Change by LHBA & The Tricar Group – Constructors Cup Soccer Tournament

June 18, 2024 – Proceeds from the 2nd annual Constructors Cup charity soccer tournament presented by The London Home Builders’ Association (LHBA) in partnership with The Tricar Group along with matching donations were given to the Health & Homelessness Fund for Change this month.

The May 31, 2024 tournament played at Tricar Field in West London, doubled in size this year, bringing together 16 LHBA member teams, sponsors and spectators to raise $70,000 towards the implementation of London’s whole of community system response to the crisis of homelessness in our community. The tournament proceeds of $17,500 were generously matched by The Tricar Group, totalling $35,000 which in turn will be matched via an additional $5 million matching fund by the generous anonymous donor family who originally spearheaded the Fund for Change with a transformative $25 million commitment ~ Totalling a $70,000 donation.

The system response plan was created by more than 200 community members representing 70 organizations from across various sectors. Support from the Fund for Change is already making an impact in our community with investment and active development of highly supportive housing units and Hubs, a new model to support unhoused Londoners with the most complex needs and to relieve pressures on emergency services and the justice system, across the city.  To learn more, visit www.FundForChange.ca

This week, representatives from LHBA and The Tricar Group visited the Wiigiwaaminaan Indigenous-focused Hub at Parkwood Hospital in London to experience first-hand and to show support for the incredible work that is already happening on the ground right here in the city.

“We are so grateful to the London Home Builders’ Association, the generous sponsors and amazing participants of this year’s Constructors Cup for choosing to support the Health and Homelessness Fund for Change,” said Diane Silva, President and CEO, London Community Foundation. “By coming together as Londoners from all sectors and walks of life, we can ensure the most marginalized people in our community have a safe, secure, and affordable place to call home.
