The LHBA Renovators’ Council, in partnership with the Fanshawe Interior Design Program, gives students real-life job experience to design a project for an existing home. For example, one year, the council asked the program’s second-year students to design a blueprint for fully accessible accessory dwelling units that allow seniors to comfortably and safely age on an existing property.

Judged by members of the LHBA Renovators’ Council, LHBA’s Careers Committee and LHBA members, elements such as the overall concept, styling, function, Ontario Building Code standards, quality of presentation, and use of budget are considered.
