LHBA In The
Community
Building great communities through giving back and being active and engaged in our local area and beyond.
building great communities
through giving
LHBA members are committed to building great homes but also to building great communities through giving back and being active and engaged in our local area and beyond. You may have seen our members out and about in your community helping with the Business Cares Food Drive Grocery Store Weekend, collecting socks for the #519Pursuit, and raising money for the Health and Homelessness Fund for Change and Threads of Life through events like LHBA’s Constructors Cup Charitable Soccer Tournament or the Parade of Renovations and more.
Business
Cares

LHBA captained 9 stores across the city during the 2024 Grocery Store Weekend (Nov 30/Dec 1), rallied volunteers for the weekend, called their friends, families, clients and business connections for donations and donated themselves, together raising $345,731+ in food and monetary donations during the campaign! Topping our 2023 total of $320,952!
Thank you to our 2024 store captains: CLAY dcc, RBC Royal Bank, Nieman Market Design, The Better Bin Company (TBBC), TRY Recycling, The Tricar Group, Sloan Stone Design, Strik Baldinelli Moniz, Verbeek Kitchens, CCR Build + Remodel, Wastell Homes and Duncan Harwood Custom Homes along with our MANY LHBA volunteers over the weekend.

#519
Pursuit
1130 pairs of socks donated to the 2024 @519pursuit Official Sock Drop event! Thank you LHBA Members for collecting and donating towards this incredible cause! Each pair of socks represents a ripple effect of impact. From conversations that lead to donations of new socks to the new socks getting onto the feet of someone in need.

Proceeds from the parade are donated to charity, most recently to Threads of Life, a Canadian registered charity dedicated to supporting families after a workplace fatality, life-altering injury or occupational disease. Our 2024 Parade featured 10 home and outdoor living renovations, visit our Parade page to find out more about our next event.
Green Home
Build Projects
LHBA’s unique Green Home Build projects combine the generosity of LHBA members, local businesses, innovative green products, and community spirit, together building a home to raise funds for charity.
The first build of its kind, supported the creation of LHBA’s Cancer Survivor Garden located on Riverside Drive/Wonderland Road in London. The second, a net zero ready home built over 2023 and 2024 shared proceeds with Kids Kicking Cancer Canada’s (KKCC) Heroes Circle and ongoing LHBA programs and initiatives.
Partnering with Local Educators
& Connecting with Students
LHBA is committed to supporting careers in the trades and the future of the home building industry. Our members partner with local educators and regularly connect with high school and post secondary students to promote the opportunities and benefits of a career in the trades.
Many of those involved in our career’s initiatives have been inspired by the excitement the students show while being supported by the industry from the very beginning of their journey and in addition many have made valuable connections with future employees!
